Perrine The Creative#23weeks
Perrine, the 34 year-old artistic director, began her career in the press. In 2010, she created Les Confettis, an online notebook-like platform for discovering and sharing inspirations of her favourite spots and current trends. Last June, she launched a semi-annual magazine by the same name, driven by the desire to highlight inspiring women. Already a mother to a little Ninon, she is expecting her second child. She takes a moment to share details of her life with us: her family, her graphic design projects within her agency, and the animation of her webzine.
How would you describe your tribe?
At the moment, I would say that the three of us are rather close. Sometimes the dad and I feel that we don’t get to enjoy our little girl as much as we’d like during the week because of how busy our lives are. However, the weekends give us an opportunity to catch up and enjoy our time at a leisurely pace. All this may soon be turned upside down by the arrival of a little brother!
What values would you like to pass on to your children?
I really want them to be curious about everything, to be open, and to have a mindset that anything is possible.
How would you describe yourself as a mum?
I think I'm a pretty cool mum... or at least I hope so! Our family functions on 2 gears: during the week, we are a pretty efficient team of dad, nanny and I; in the evenings and on the weekends, I am completely dedicated to my little girl.
What inspires you as a mom every day?
Seeing my daughter grow and evolve every day brings me tremendous joy. I am very proud of her. I am also very impressed by how independent she is. She is already a "real" person with her own personality. I am curious to see what kind of a person she will become, but at the same time I do not want time to fly. I want to remember every moment.
What passions do you share with your little one?
Music, drawing and discovering new things. I am hoping soon we can travel as a family.
9 months of pregnancy, too short or too long?
I would say that 9 months are needed for the idea of becoming a mother to sink in and to prepare psychologically. My two pregnancy experiences have been very different. The first time I was pregnant, everything was a discovery and we were attentive to everything. I also had the luck to be in good shape, which allowed me to work throughout the entire pregnancy. This time, I feel more physically challenged but it's probably because I already have a little girl who demands a lot of attention.
Is there anything you are currently craving that you cannot have?
Ah, yes. I would say, it is the red wine and the good cheese that I am seriously starting to miss.
Fun family moments?
In daily life, the three of us waking up together in bed - the moments of hugs and kisses. Otherwise in general, as soon as she laughs, I am in heaven. I also love to hear her sing or invent little stories.
A few words for your baby?
I can’t wait to get to know you. You have a fabulous older sister, and as the first boy in the family, you are very much awaited!
