Anne The Flamboyant#28weeks
Canal Saint-Martin, Paris. It’s in this neighbourhood close to République that you might bump into this effervescent 29 year-old future mother. Only six few weeks remain until she gives birth to her first child but the way she lives hasn’t changed: her joyful and dynamic outlook on life are still going strong at home and at the office. Today, she gives us an insight into what lies beneath her optimism and charm.
Girl or boy… did you find out or have you kept it a surprise?
Both the baby’s father and I are much too curious to wait. We actually never questioned it – there’s no way we could have lasted without knowing.
You crave… strawberries or an extra large steak?
Weirdly, I didn’t really get any special cravings. Maybe a bit of extra sugar. I suppose I replaced cheese with dessert. That said, I do occasionally give in to a little bit of Comté or Saint Nectaire.
9 months of pregnancy… too long or too short?
Too short, as I’ve loved every minute of it! The proof: I’m still working, even at seven and a half months. Not a single bout of morning sickness – a little tired at times, but nothing crazy. I’d like him to stay put as long as possible, even though I can’t wait to meet him!
If you could have anything that’s forbidden right now, what would it be?
Cheese, because I’m crazy about it. A large plate with goat cheese, cow’s, sheep’s… Staying away from it has been tough. That, and cocktails! I’m a party girl at heart, and swapping a cocktail for mineral water has seriously dampened the fun.
When you found out you were pregnant, was it tears or smiles?
Every time I told someone I almost burst into tears – hormones, probably! When I got the news I was both overwhelmed with emotion and extremely nervous about the life changes ahead.
What’s the most beautiful thing you hope to pass on to your baby?
A sense of justice is important to me. That, and joie de vivre, being open to others…
Changing the topic to fashion: what’s your most important fashion item?
A dress, all year round. It’s all I wear – I have one in every style. I love to have choices, even when pregnant!
If someone asked you to describe Envie de Fraise, what would you say?
Trendy, modern, young… For go-getters!
